I first moved my small financial business to Grants Pass in 2006. Little did I know that two years later I would go to work in the Finance Department of the City of Grants Pass and then serve as the City's Finance Director from 2010 to 2020. I learned a great deal about City operations and spent many years financially advising City management and the City Council on ways to achieve our Citizens' collective goals while keeping the City financially healthy.
Since 2012 I have also volunteered countless hours with organizations dedicated to advocacy for Grants Pass and Josephine County Law Enforcement and Public Safety operations. To this day, both City Council members and Josephine County elected officials hear from me regularly with recommendations on budget improvements and ways we can support local law enforcement. The "It's The Climate" picture here is an unedited photo from my phone at 8am on a Saturday in March 2018 after I just finished a law enforcement project breakfast meeting at the Powderhorn!
While I chose to move back to private sector work in 2020, I've continued to support local law enforcement and fire departments and I've watched or listened to just about every public meeting of both the Josephine County Commissioners and the Grants Pass City Council since 2012. While every major department of the city plays an important role, local Police and Fire continue to need our support at both the City and County level. My service on the GP City Council would just allow me to continue serving Grants Pass public safety in a slightly different way! And as I attended all the City Council meetings from 2010 to 2020, and watched most since then, I'm ready to hit the ground running.

My wife and I have two awesome boys in Grants Pass schools, you'll find me participating in the worship team at Redwood Christian Church, and I regularly volunteer to write articles about local government activities for publications such as the Grants Pass Tribune and the Oregon Eagle. In addition to my long-term advocacy for local law enforcement and public safety, I'm also passionate about economic development. Both Grants Pass and Josephine County have incredible economic opportunities ahead and I look forward to serving as your next City Councilor for Ward 2!
